2012 Wounded Knee Memorial Motorcycle Run remembers the massacred
About 75 bikers took part in the annual Wounded Knee Memorial Motorcycle Run this past weekend as the ride passed through Eagle Butte.. Riders took part in the 6th annual journey that begin in 2006. The ride strectches 360 miles from Ft. Yates, ND across South Dakota reaching their destination at the Wounded Knee Memorial on the Pine Ridge reservation. The motorcycle run seeks to commemorate the Mnicoujou Lakota who were killed at the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890 and follows the trail of Chief Big Foot. Motorcyclists from across the country take part in the event. The riders stopped in Eagle Butte for the first leg of the journey and continued on Saturday morning.
