As the South Dakota trademark wind howled down the streets on November 6, 2012, Dupree had a bit more traffic than usual, as residents of Ziebach County turned out to vote.
The Ziebach County Auditor’s office was quiet that morning, between phone calls inquiring as to where people’s specific polling places were or to absentee vote. The real fun begins for the auditor’s office after the polls close.
Voters registered in Ziebach County can absentee vote in our office until 3 p.m., said Tracie Henderson, Deputy Auditor.
Some would-be voters were turned away, because registering to vote ended on October 22.
