The Dupree National Honor Society held a Christmas activity for the Dupree pre-Kindergarten students last week.

The NHS members divided up the pre-K students, so that there were either one or two little ones for each high school member.

Then each high school student read their pre-K student or students children’s books. After reading, the books with candy canes and kids’ software games were given to the pre-K students as early Christmas presents from the NHS.

After story time, the NHS had two games for the kids to play. NHS member Hoss Rave instructed the pre-K about the games and all of the members and their advisors had fun watching the pre-K students play.

First they did a close game of “musical chairs” and then a “snowball” relay that was actually cotton balls on plastic spoons.

After the pre-K played the games and then returned to their classroom, the NHS members proceeded to take some time and put up a tree for the Dupree School Parade of Trees and enjoy some snacks.

Overall, it was a great time for the youngest of Dupree School to play and get to know the oldest students of Dupree School, since the NHS members are juniors and seniors in high school.

To put it in the words of one of the pre-K students as they were leaving, “Why do we have to leave the big kids already?”
