Braves regroup to finish seventh at LNI

After losing a last-second heart breaker to Todd County on Friday afternoon, the Braves regrouped on Saturday to dominate the McLaughlin Midgets in the battle for seventh place.

The Braves set the pace early and dominated the game from the onset, allowing McLaughlin only 14 points in the first half. The Braves’ offense continued to control the game into the second half to defeat the Midgets 73-51.

The Braves finished with two players scoring more than 20 points each in the contest. Cray Allen led the Braves with 24, and Xavier Norris finished with 22 to push the Braves to the victory. Katana Bartlett hit three treys and a free throw to finish with 10.

Consolation Bracket

Todd County

After losing to Todd County by 27 points the week before, the Braves faced off again with the Falcons in the first round of the consolation bracket. The Braves defense held Todd County to give C-EB a three point advantage into halftime 27-24. The battle continued into the second half and remained close as time dwindled down and the score remained tied at 42. At the buzzer, Todd County’s Zach Cox put a shot up from halfcourt and found nothing but net to put the Falcon’s up by three to win 45-42.

Xavier Norris led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and five steals. Cray Allen finished with eight points. Hehaka Nunmpa led the Falcons with 17 points.
