Funeral services for siblings Waco Buffalo, 23, and Brittany Buffalo, 26, of Eagle Butte, were held Saturday, July 20 at 11 a.m., MDT, at the Eagle Butte Auditorium with Rev. Norman Blue Coat, Pastor Byron Buffalo, Pastor Leroy Bobtail Bear and Minister Helene Circle Eagle officiating.

Music was provided by Daryl Whipple, Byron and Toni Buffalo, Antoine and Verdelia American Horse and the Wakinyan Hoksila Drum Group. A meal followed at the cultural center, with burial afterward at the UCC Cemetery, Bridger, SD.

Funeral attendees met at the 4-mile Jct. at 4 p.m. Friday to proceed to the cultural center for an all-night wake with services beginning at 7 p.m. Brittany and Waco entered the spirit world July 11, 2013 south of Eagle Butte as a result of an automobile accident. Waco Lane Buffalo was born November 27, 1989 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to Rhonda Eagle Chasing-Uses Many and Delaine Buffalo.

Waco loved spending time with his nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters. He loved to hang out with his friends, most of all his best friend, Keyton Warwick, who has become a member of Waco’s family.

Casketbearers for Waco were Keyton Warwick, Efton Dog Eagle, Jason Moran, Luke Egna, Trudell Hill, Justin Strikes Enemy, Travis Lightfield, Bud Halfred, Bronco Hunts Horse, Julio Lara, Samuel Dubray Jr., Quentin Buffalo and Gerald “Sonny” Dupris and Chris Miner.

Brittany Houston Buffalo was born January 2, 1987 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to Rhonda Eagle Chasing-Uses Many and Delaine Buffalo.

Brittany attended Cheyenne-Eagle Butte schools, Headstart though high school.

She was a young mother and enjoyed being with her children, Jada and Daisha Mound and Brooklyn and Mason Buffalo. She loved spending time with friends and family, and loved listening to music. Brittsey, as she was affectionately called, will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Casketbearers for Brittany  were Ted Miner, Jr., Dugan Bad Warrior, Art Woods, Paul Miner, Conroy Clown, Tyrell Garreau, Sr., Carlton and Kyle Buffalo, Alex Mound and Damon Patton.

Brittany is survived by her children, Jada and Daisha Mound and Brooklyn and Mason Buffalo.
