Mike attended Rouse Country School #73 for his early grade school years. He finished his grade school in Wagner, graduating from Wagner High School in 1979.

Mike married Nancy Lenk on June 23, 1990, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupree. Together they made their home on a farm south of Dante. Their union was blessed with two children: Allison and Joshua.

Mike was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Dante where he served as usher and a former member of the parish council. Mike was also a member of Catholic Workman.

Mike will be remembered! He will be remembered for: his love of family and devotion to his wife and children, his big smile,  his Donald Duck voice, his kind heart and love of visiting. He knew no strangers, just friends he hadn’t yet met. The care and love for his farm and his cows. His love of hunting, fishing, golfing, playing softball and watching baseball and  his smoked turkeys at Christmas time.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Nancy and their children Allison and Joshua, all of rural Wagner; brother: P.J. and wife Marti and their daughter, Emilea of rural Dante; father-in-law, Raymond Lenk of Dupree; aunts and uncles: Bob and Marie Soukup, Mary Cimpl and Raymond and Albina Soukup, all of Wagner, Wes and Evelyn Cimpl of Yankton and JoAnn and Francis Beeson of Dante; brother-in-law, Quinn Lenk of Dupree; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Lenk of Framingham, MA; and many cousins, relatives and friends.
