U.S. Senator Tim Johnson, who was instrumental in getting funding for the $72 million dollar Mní Wasté water project, spoke to the crowd Oglala Lakota College auditorium in Eagle Butte last Thursday during the water projects groundbreaking ceremony.

“Nearly a decade ago, we were in the midst of a devastating drought that threatened the viability of Mni Wasté’s water intake,” said Senator Tim Johnson, during his speech at the ceremony.
