We’re thinking of you… Dupree NHS sends 2012 grad packages
by Patty Peacock
Each winter, the Dupree High School National Honor Society prepares care packages of treats and school supplies to send to the ‘new alumni’ as they take their first semester of ‘final exams’. The Dupree NHS members raise money throughout the year to do various civic deeds and one of their projects is to send these ‘Finals Week Care Packages’ to students from the most recent graduating class.
In order to reach out to them during this rather stressful time, the NHS members and their advisors gathered mailing addresses of students from the DHS Class of 2012 going to school and did up the packages. The students want the young grads to know that while they’re thinking of final exams, that Dupree students are thinking of them and hoping that they continue to do well at either college or vocational school.
The packages contain candy, healthy snacks, jerky, cracker sets, highlighters, pens, and other useful ‘finals week’ items. There was also a good luck card sent with each package.
