Mosquito spray scheduled for July 18
An aerial mosquito control application is scheduled for July 18, between 7-10PM.
Citing the nuisance and diseases (West Nile Virus) associated with mosquitos, the Eagle Butte City Council agreed at their June regular meeting to authorize the aerial spraying as a supplement to the regular ground spraying. Spraying will be done within city limits and at the golf course/Brueschke Lake. The City of Eagle Butte has hired AIRBORNE CUSTOM SPRAYING of Halstad, Minnesota to perform an aerial mosquito spraying to be performed once within the date range of July 16-18 at dusk and depending upon wind conditions.
The required paperwork for compliance with FAA and the South Dakota Department of Agriculture for aerial mosquito control spraying have been completed. These applications have been approved by the FAA and the South Dakota Department of Agriculture.
The company performs aerial spraying to include mosquito control from various cities in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.
Specially-trained and licensed pilots are assisting in the control of mosquitoes in this area.
The company says their process is safe and environmentally friendly and will not adversely affect pets, people, gardens or paint finish on vehicles. However, as an added measure of safety, you may remain indoors while the application is taking place.
