Dewey County may add early voting in Eagle Butte
by Tasiyagnunpa Livermont
At their August 7, 2012, regular meeting, the Dewey County commissioners discussed favorably creating an early voting booth in Eagle Butte, however no immediate action was taken.
The commissioners referred the matter to Steve Aberle, Dewey County State’s Attorney, to study and submit a letter with his findings back to the commissioners for discussion at their September meeting.
The matter was brought to the county upon a letter of request by CRST Chairman Kevin Keckler. O.J. and Barbara Seamans of Four Directions, a tribal voting advocacy and policy group from Rosebud, also were present at the meeting to discuss the matter.
Dewey County’s next regular meeting will be September 11, 2012.
