Students attend Indian Univ. of NA
“Never forget your dreams” was the message instilled in the thirty “graduates” of The Indian University of North America – at Crazy Horse, SD on August 8, 2012. Aspen Ducheneaux, Courtney Fischer and Jordan Heideman were participants of this group.
Students were selected based on academic achievements. The Summer University Program of the Indian University of North America is a partnership between Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation and the University of South Dakota. The program prepares students for the rigors of college by offering college preparatory courses, which transfer to any accredited college or university and offers students paid working internships at the memorial’s visitor complex.
The summer program is based on sound educational principles celebrating the spirit of Crazy Horse and the Ziolkowski family. The curriculum embraces Crazy Horse as a warrior, his perseverance, and leadership.
During the Completion Ceremony, Aspen Ducheneaux was honored to receive the Rosebud Yellow Robe Scholarship presented by the Hyman and Marjorie Weinberg Foundation. All three young ladies will be attending the University of South Dakota this fall and majoring in pre-med.
