Braves Cross Country off to good start

The Cheyenne Eagle Butte Cross Country team had a busy week last week, traveling nearly 700 miles in three days to compete at the Northern Hills Invitational on Thursday, and then heading east river to Aberdeen for the Roe Granger Invitational on Saturday. Roe Granger
Four top ten finishes guaranteed the C-EB Boy’s Cross Country team back-to-back team titles at the 52nd Annual Roe Granger Invitational. Junior Xavier Norris led the way with a third place finish crossing the tape at 17:37, knocking more than two-minutes off his time last week at the Douglas Invitational. Dillion Miner finished fifth with 18:19, Harold Red Owl eighth with 18:35, and Don’E Red Water ninth with 18:40. Caleb LeBeau finished sixteenth with a time of 19:11 and Eric Brown finished 34th with a time of 19:11. “Everyone worked hard,” said Head Coach Shannon Jewett. “ The individual times and team results are a reflection of their effort.”The varsity girls finished fourth as a team, paced by Destiny Beautiful Bald Eagle, who finished 6th over the 4000-meter course with a time of 16:25 trimming nearly a minute and a half of her time from the first meet. The Boy’s Cross Country team picked up a second place finish at the Northern Hills Invitational, coming in behind Class AA Rapid City Stevens. Xavier Norris finished 4th with a time of 18:09.15, Harold Red Owl 13th in 18:58.83, Caleb LeBeau 18th in 19:25.21, Don’E Red Water 20th in 19:32.42, Dillion Miner 34th in 20:33.62 and Eric Brown finished 41st in a time of 21:31.46.Girls
