CEB runners dominate meets

The Cheyenne Eagle Butte Boys and Girls Cross Country squad completed a big week after competing in three meets in two days. The boys’ runners won three of three meets including capturing the Big Dakota Conference title. The girls finished with three second-place finishes including a one-point finish behind Chamberlain at the Big Dakota meet. Boys Big Dakota Conference
The boy’s finished the conference meet with a perfect “10” points by C-EB grabbing the top four places. Xavier Norris led the pack with a season best 16:47 followed by Harold Red Owl with 17:21. Seven Annis finished third with a time of 17:41 and Don’E Red Water finished the 5000-meter course in 18:06. Dillon Miner rounded out the runners with a tenth place finish with a time of 18:30. The Chamberlain Invitational meet was held during the same race as the Big Dakota Conference with the same times. Jase Kraft of Wessington Springs topped the course with a time of 16:12. Xavier Norris finished second, Harold Red Owl third, Seven Annis fifth, and Don’E Red Water finished seventh.

The boys won the Invitational with five top-ten finishes, led by Xavier Norris who finished first with a time of 17:26.73. Harold Red Owl came in second, covering the course in 17:33.19. Seven Annis finished fifth one second ahead of Dillion Miner and Don’E Red Water finished ninth.

Big Dakota ConferenceThe girl’s squad finished second at the conference meet, one-point behind Chamberlain. Destiny Beautiful Bald Eagle won the Big Dakota Conference meet, finishing the 4000-meter course in a time of 16:01. Ivy Norris finished seventh in a time of 17:36. River Gunville finished 11th, Macy Shupick, 16th; D’Aryn Lends His Horse, 17th; and Sierra Bobtail Bear, 26th.

The girls finished second behind a strong Ipswich squad who won the meet after capturing the top three spots. Destiny Beautiful Bald Eagle led the Lady Braves with a fourth place finish in 15:41.52. Ivy Norris finished sixth and Macy Shupick finished 14th.
